Tell me about yourself. Why are you a family photographer?
I grew up on a farm in Northern Michigan with my three brothers, and I count them and my parents among my best friends. Like most children, I especially enjoyed seeing photos of myself and my family from years past. I could spend hours paging through old albums and asking my parents questions about them.
I hope to create the same joyful documentation for your family as you grow and change over the years. Whether you want a beautiful art centerpiece for your home, a series of images for a keepsake album, a lovely photo for your holiday card, or all of the above, we can plan a session that helps capture your life and relationships.
How would you describe your portrait style?
I believe the most beautiful images come from natural and heartfelt actions and emotions. My goal is to capture who you are and how you naturally interact with one another.
This philosophy is what we photographers refer to as “Lifestyle photography”. The photos are centered around your personality and your everyday life. Rather than going to a studio and creating a standard “portrait", we will work together to come up with a session concept that truly fits you.
I prefer to work on location in your home, neighborhood, business, or favorite date location—places that have meaning for you. This helps keep you relaxed and also lets us document your real life.
What are your rates and how do I book a session?
You can ask more questions or start the booking process by emailing me. I would love to hear from you!
Prices for popular sessions are listed below. If you have a different type of session or event coverage in mind, we can come up with a custom quote just for you.

Newborn Lifestyle Portraits - $700
My newborn sessions are all about remembering the first sweet moments of your baby’s life. I love photos that tell a story, and I generally don’t use a lot of props. My preferred look is simple, natural, and centered around your absolutely beautiful baby. This two hour session will include photos of the whole family as well as solo portraits of the new baby. I allow lots of time for feeding, calming, and changing diapers, and I'm also happy to provide help with wardrobe questions as I know from personal experience that it's tricky to dress yourself in those first few weeks of post-partum life.
The ideal time to photograph newborns is about 7-10 days after birth. (If your baby is older than this, don't worry! We can still get great photos.) I typically book newborn sessions in the second or third trimester and schedule the exact time and date once baby is home from the hospital. And if your baby has infant acne or manages to scratch him/herself with those sharp newborn nails--don't worry about it. My newborn sessions include advanced skin retouching as needed.
