I'm so glad you're here! This is where you can keep up with my latest weddings, engagements, and family sessions as well as my personal artistic projects and paleo-ish recipe hacks. It's a great way to get to know me and my work, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future posts in the comments.
If there’s anything better than two people in love, it might be those same people with a Corgi puppy. Shalynn and John and sweet little Ivy were a delight to photograph (and they designed a perfect photo itinerary of the loveliest places in downtown Carmel.) We started off on Main Street, where John and […]
Are you ready for something amazing? This shoot has been my creative dream for over a year, and I finally get to share it with you because the feature on Wedding Chicks is now live! When we moved to the Carmel area last winter, I was immediately entranced by the city center and the […]
We created so many beautiful images for this session that I had to write a second post featuring more of the dramatic indoor spaces at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts. From bright sunshine to soft shadows; from dancing in the spotlight to sitting alone in the empty theatre, this session […]
Any engagement session that begins and ends with popping Champagne is all right with me! I absolutely loved working with Mary Kate and Joe, who share my love for laid-back summer days at home with the ones you love. We started out at their beautiful house in Westfield to capture a little slice of […]
I’m finally ready to share the last post from this lovely spring engagement session. After our stop at the vine covered trellises (in my previous post), we drove to First Christian Church, where Quintin and Hayli will be married in August. The building, constructed in 1942, was one of the first churches in […]
Welcome back for the second installment of Quintin and Hayli’s engagement session in Columbus, Indiana! As you know, I’m pretty smitten with these two, and I have a tendency to go on and on about them. I’ll try to keep it short today and just say how much I love their sense of adventure […]
I don’t know many people who would start off a photo shoot by eating an entire waffle cone, but that’s exactly what Hayli and Quintin did. These two have a very playful, laid-back vibe, and they wanted their photos to capture that light-hearted spirit. As a native of Columbus, Hayli wanted to visit some […]
I had a great time getting to know Chelsea and Aaron. I’ll be photographing their wedding in September 2018 at Meadowlark Gardens, but I hadn’t actually met them yet! They started researching photographers after I’d already moved to Indiana, but they still reached out, and I could tell right away that they were my kind of couple.
This week I’m taking you behind the scenes so you can see what it’s really like to shoot (or star in) an engagement session. We will answer questions like: How do people kiss when they have over a 12-inch height difference? Why do men make such awkward faces during engagement sessions?
I absolutely love capturing engaged couples out in nature, and spring is one of the most beautiful times of year in the midwest. Layton and Chelsea will wed this summer in Northern Michigan, but they came down to Indianapolis for their engagement photos at the IMA a few weeks ago.
