Wedding at the Torpedo Factory: Martha & Andrew

I still can’t get over this wedding. What a day! To start, Andrew and Martha are absolutely lovely people–so warm and welcoming and FUN. I truly felt like one of the guests at their wedding–except I got to see all the sweet, behind-the-scenes moments. And there were so many, you guys. (I especially loved the moment when Martha’s bridesmaids saw her in her gown for the first time. Wait till you see their faces!)

Martha and Andrew both work in creative fields, and they created a beautiful, detail-rich day. I loved the thoughtfulness behind their welcome bags, wedding party gifts, stationary, and whimsical cards for one another, not to mention the stunning florals, tablescapes, lighting, and musical choices. Though the day was certainly elegant, it was also deeply personal, and Martha and Andrew did a great job of including their friends and family. They started the night with a set by Andrew’s Dad’s band, the VI-Kings, and the dance floor was absolutely PACKED. It felt like everyone there was a groupie! Later in the evening, Martha’s dad surprised her (and everyone else) by taking the lead for a few songs (again, the reactions were amazing.)

Most of all, this day was just such a great reflection of Andrew and Martha, their love for each other, and the strong relationships in their life. The things their friends and family had to say about them really touched me, and if there’s one thing I heard throughout the day from everyone, it’s that Martha and Andrew are great hosts. They love having friends over and making elaborate cocktails and keeping people up laughing way too late into the night. I can totally picture this now, because the whole day felt like I’d stumbled into the most effortless and elegant house party–where everyone knows each other and can’t help but have a great time.

Many thanks to all the other vendors who helped make this dream day a reality–especially Margo at Bright Occasions. (You can see a full list of vendors, including the designer of Martha’s gorgeous gown, at the end of this post.)

Martha and Andrew, thank you again for welcoming me into this beautiful and joyful day. It will bring a smile to my face for a long time to come!
