Wedding at the DC War Memorial: Alex & Som

This post is waaay too long, but I just can’t help it, you guys. I love this wedding so much!

For starters, Alex is by far the most courageous bride I’ve met yet. About a month before her wedding, she suffered a major hip injury while practicing with her dance troupe. Despite having surgery, walking with a slight limp, and navigating multiple venues with lots of stairs, she was absolutely radiant on her wedding day. I loved her rare combination of tenacity and grace.

Som was the perfect partner for Alex. He was so kind and gentle with her–helping her up and down stairs, carrying her crutches, and making sure she got breaks when she needed them. He even managed to twirl her (carefully) on the dance floor a time or two.

Great couples have to have great support systems, and Alex and Som’s wedding party and family did a phenomenal job assisting and celebrating them. All of Alex’s ladies showered her with attention and affirmation, and Som’s groomsmen kept things lighthearted with group selfies and a plaster cast of a deer head (which I still don’t understand).

I’ll let the photos take it from here, but I do want to say thanks to Emilie Staats at Bliss Weddings and Events for helping the day run smoothly. A full list of vendors is below the post. Enjoy!

Thank you, Alex and Som, for including me in this beautiful and joy-filled wedding day! It was truly an honor to capture it for you and your families.

And many thanks to all the talented vendors who helped make this day possible!
