I'm so glad you're here! This is where you can keep up with my latest weddings, engagements, and family sessions as well as my personal artistic projects and paleo-ish recipe hacks. It's a great way to get to know me and my work, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future posts in the comments.
This post is going to be on the long side, but I just can’t help myself. Ben and Victoria are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with, they had an epic DC romance, and they planned a gorgeous wedding too (so I can’t help but share all the details with you!)
They met at GW Law school, and Ben immediately fell for Victoria (while playing it cool outwardly). After hanging out at school and Bible study for awhile, Ben coached Victoria for Moot Court and they celebrated afterwards over coffee, which they consider their first real date.
In keeping with the law school theme, Ben proposed during Victoria’s graduation weekend in front of one-hundred-plus people at the Hispanic Bar Association dinner. During this celebratory dinner, all the graduates’ family and friends can make impromptu toasts and speeches, so Ben took the microphone and surprised everyone by asking Victoria to be his wife. It was a perfect proposal for Victoria because her whole family was there to cheer and celebrate with them.
Ben and Victoria were married by their priest at the beautiful St. Matthew’s Cathedral. I loved seeing Victoria tear up as her dad walked her down the aisle and she and Ben exchanged vows and rings. She was an incredibly organized and competent bride, but when the big moments arrived, she wasn’t afraid to show her emotions too. For his part, Ben was so considerate, calm, and kind, with his bride and everyone else too.
After the ceremony, we raced the rain over to the Lincoln Memorial for some truly stunning portraits–complete with deep gray skies and big stormy clouds. The three of us got to experience a taste of life as celebrities when all the tourists surrounded us with cheers and selfie requests. Ben and Victoria handled it all with good humor and grace.
We wrapped up with portraits overlooking DC at Fort Myers and then continued to the Fort Myer’s Officer’s club for dinner and dancing. As a special treat, Ben and his band of fellow lawyers played the last set of the night themselves. I loved seeing the bride and her friends cheer on her brand new husband!
Victoria and Ben, thank you again for for including me in your beautiful wedding day. It was truly and honor to get to know your and your families. I hope these photos bring back many happy memories over a lifetime of love.
