I'm so glad you're here! This is where you can keep up with my latest weddings, engagements, and family sessions as well as my personal artistic projects and paleo-ish recipe hacks. It's a great way to get to know me and my work, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future posts in the comments.
There is so much to love about this wedding. Matt and Cristina were one of the most adventurous couples I’ver ever seen. I photographed them making their getaway from the church in a classic red convertible, wading through rows of corn, tromping over a field of wheat, and dancing the night away after a torrential rainstorm. Nothing fazed these two, and you could tell they were enjoying every minute of their wedding day.
They celebrated their marriage at Cristina’s family getaway on the banks of the Potamac: a grassy hill overlooking sailboats, blue skies, and miles of wide open water. In this neighborhood, The Fourth of July is especially celebrated, and country roads leading to the water were lined with American flags and festive decorations.
Cristina’s family traditionally gathers to celebrate The Fourth, so this holiday was a perfect fit for her wedding. Many of the guests got in on the holiday spirit with star spangled clothing and flag festooned desserts.
As the skies grew dark, fireworks lit up the night all along the banks of the Potomac. Matt and Cristina’s families put on their own impressive pyrotechnics display, so make sure you stick around for the Grand Finale!
Cristina and Matt, it was such a privilege to capture the first day of your marriage. I couldn’t resist putting together this GIF to share a bit of the excitement and brilliance that was your wedding day.
